Don’t get me wrong, though (and this is where I part company with Ricky and Elton); the book’s success didn’t mean I suddenly become comfortable with my body shape – that would have been a bit much to expect, with a lifetime of self-doubt behind me. It did, however, dawn on me that thousands of other women evidently shared the belief that everything would be better if only they were thinner.
It was a heartening discovery, but I’m afraid I can’t say the realisation made me happy to pop a bikini on or wear a sleeveless dress without a care in the world.
While there may be a number of weight-loss products out there, body shaper undergarments are not one of them. Body shaping undergarments are often misquoted as slimming outfits while they do not have such actual function. It is quite true that a body shaper undergarment reduces one’s dress size. However, the effect is only temporary and one reverts back to their original dress size immediately once they take off the undergarment. While these shaper undergarments are not meant to be used as weight loss products, but when used together with slimming diets, one can achieve a permanent slimming figure that can be retained without much problem for a very long period of time even when the body shaper undergarments are no longer in use. A healthy, slimming diet, preferably one that is prescribed by a physician, would serve this purpose very well.
